It's that time again.  New season kicks off tonight.  Through more than a little bit of luck I've found myself qualified for the Pro grid.  Oh dear god what am I in for.

I'm entering the next round of the Pac Majors, coming off a win in the F1 car at Monza.  Tonight's combination:  Aston Martin DBR9 at Road Atlanta.  Should be a good time.  Race starts at 6pm PDT.

I wasn't expecting to have the pace to run at the front, so focused on staying clean and avoiding damaging the car.  As the race progressed I slowly picked my way forward taking advantage of others mistakes.  By mid-point I would find myself in the lead and wouldn't look back until the checkered flag.

If you've been on the fence about trying it out, there has never been a better time.  While the free accounts have their restrictions, you can still experience 90% of the game at no cost...including no level caps (minimum levels are required to leave starting areas and enter WvW).  Yep, you can play and level a toon all the way up to the max level of 80.  

And down the road if you choose to purchase the Heart of Thorns expansion...your existing account gets upgraded/unlocked.  So no starting over!

So I told Doodi I would try to campaign some 2o2p sponsored cars at some upcoming televised events.  On of the first will be the Italian GP coming up Sept 20.  Not being very skilled in the "painting" department, I figured I would get a head start.  Never mind the fact the car is a bit of a handful to drive.

7 of us will be sharing a Ford GT GT3 trying to complete a full 24 hour race.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Hour 2 Update

And yes, you read that correct...24 hours.  We shall find out come August 1-2.  We are currently putting together a team (or 2) for the assault on the world reknown Spa Francorchamps circuit.  I'll likely be running w/ co-drivers F1Fan07 & oldslowfred (along w/ a couple more drivers not finalized at this time) in the GBR1 Ford GT in the GT3 class.  We will be trying to back up our 4th place finish in the 12hrs of Sebring and a 3rd at the Sahlen's 6 Hours of the Glen (Watkins Glen).

If nothing else it's going to be interesting.
