Hello
Hello
Hello I'm Ammo and I'm a recovering Xboxer.
So due to the fact that my pc is aging and with two sons it's easier and much cheaper to buy a couple of consoles. So I was all set and ready for the Xbox announcement at E3.
All I can say is this isn't the first time MS has blown off en entire customer base. I use to be heavy into MS Flight Sim, they pretty much had the market for that cornered for years. Well their last release they put a guy from the xbox team in charge who was dellusional and thought they could get millions of people playing if they made it more arcade like some of the xbox games. Oh and instead of the whole planet you only get Hawaii to fly around. So basically they turned their backs on their customer base and well the MS flight team is no more.
So I can't say I was too suprised to hear that their new TV box will sometimes play games. As long as you have internet, live subscription, and the servers are up.
But I try to see the bright side of things, SO HELLO PS4!!!
Me too.
Hello!
I tried the latest free to play MS Flight and wasn't a big fan either :(
I love Rise of Flight on the PC (sounds like your pc probably wouldn't run it unfortunately as it is pretty cpu/graphics usage heavy) WW1 flight sim - it is amazing if you ever get the chance!
Welcome aboard! Hopefully the PS4 will have a decent flight sim out - definetly an untapped market on the consoles.
Well so far the only exclusives that the Xbox has that I would miss are Forza 5 and whatever Halo comes out. Overall though Halo has started to get repetitive and with GT6 I won't miss Forza so much.
Yea my pc can run Rise of Flight and I enjoy it alot. The thing about PC gaming though is when it comes time to upgrade. Right now for my to upgrade from my i7 950 to a newer i7 since my i7 is older and of course no longer produced would of course require a new motherboard and cpu. A good mid range cpu sets you back about 300 dollars, that alone is almost a new console right there. Then the motherboard if you want to have a decent one and overclock is another 200ish. Luckily I could still use my memory and my GTX570. But then if I want to multiplay anything with my kids I have to build them a pc too. I'm finding that as I get older I don't want to mess with building a pc and maintain its updates, upgrades, and configuring. I just want to put a disc in and play.
As far as the last MS flight is, yea over five years of development and all we got was like 3 or 4 planes and a couple of the Hawaiian islands. Since Bill left its been one thing after another with MS and failure. I'm even starting to look at an apple for my next home pc purchase.
I will miss Titan Fall though. I have to admit. I could play on PC and I probably will.
Well now that MS has revised their DRM issue I'm kind of conflicted. Would love to get Forza but at the same time I really like some of what I'm seeing for the PS. Decisions decisions.
any confirmation that your wheel etc. will work on the new XB1. I hope for both MS and Sony that they make the existing devices such as wheels etc. work with the next gen consoles. Some of that shit is expensive - it would suck to not be able to use my G27 on my PS4.....I honeslty probably wouldn't buy another wheel - I'd just use the G27 on my PC which is where I use it mostly now.
MS themselves said new equipment will be necessary. Doesn't make much sense being usb but from what I hear it's the typical MS 'not following standard protocols', usb in this case. I wonder if a third party is going to make a black box to use old stuff and if that would introduce too much lag.
If you can't decide I suggest you get a preorder of both, if they don't require an up front deposit. I really expect xbone to be stock strapped for the launch. Hell, if you have no problems with it you most likely could scalp one to pay for the other.
yeah I saw post by one of the wheel manufactures I think saying they were trying to get it to work (I don't know why the would....makes more business sense for them just to let it not work) but I haven't followed that too closely.
I've gotten to where I use my wheel just on the PC. Force feedback is way better than what I was getting on the xbox, not to mention I can map my buttons. I enjoy playing Forza really more for driving the different cars. When I really want to race I hop on the PC.
I'm really thinking about placing a pre-order on both. I have for the ps4 and with the new development of the xbox DRM I might put money down on it too. Knowing me though I would end up keeping both lol
I'll get both.....just be a few months to a year between purchases.
I took a second look at XBox One when they back peddled on their original stance, but I still don't want to be forced to pay for something I won't use,Kinect. Drop the Kinect or drop the price to match the PS4 and I may get both down the road. I have pre-ordered the PS4 already because I prefer more of the games that were shown. I would love Sony to back peddle a little on their name for the PS Move. How does Connect sound?
Well I will admit that I'm now looking to go back to Xbox. The kinect doesn't bother me as we do use it for some of our games so I would have ended up buying one anyway. I fully understand though for people that never use one being upset at having to pay for it.
My problem was the deactivation with no check in and since that is no longer an issue and after watching some Forza 5 videos I am really thinking about putting the money down.
Well, no matter what you do swing back in and give us a shout!
I think you'll find most people don't really care what your prefered platform is. It's about just enjoying the games. Hopefully. The last couple of days have me questioning that logic. lol
Hey Ammo, have you checked out War Thunder (free 2 play WW2 plane MMO)? 3 different modes , arcade, historical and real mode....looks great. downloading it right now :) here's a video of a guy playing in real mode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htxjvRJxycw
I go the PC/PS4 route. The only games that are Xbox exclusive are the ones I generally don't care about(Gears, Halo),
I would have to agree with Pete. Halo has pretty much sucked for me after 2. Other than Titan's Fall -which will be on the 360 anyways, there isn't much that is 'xbox exclusive' that I care about.
Titan Fall is on PC also and it will be on ps4 after the inital exclusivity is over. Most likely a year after release.
Wow now that looks pretty sweet Monkey. I will check that out once I get home tonight.
Overall, sad as it may be Forza 5 was the deciding factor in me going ahead with the Xbox after the DRM policy was changed. For the life of me I don't get the same level of excitement from GT series, that and seeing that GT6 is actually being made for the ps3 and not the ps4.
Not really any other exclusives that interest me enough to go one way or the other. I just enjoy F4 so much that I'm really looking forward to F5.
