Man, every time I look at the GT website I just get more and more excited and impatient.  39 tracks and over 1200 cars at launch, with more to come via DLC!!!  Triple screen compatibility and it works with my Fanatec CSW wheel and pedals and Thrustmaster THR8S shifter.  Am I the only one who is just oozing with anticipation?

I just checked the US PSN store.  GT6 is available to buy digitally, but it looks like the regular edition, not the 15th anniversary edition.  I think that means it makes sense to get the Game Stop 15th Anniversary Edition, since it comes with 25 free cars.  Remember, unlike Forza, when you get free or DLC cars, they go right into your garage.  No need to buy them "again" in-game.

So, I loved Forza. It will probably the one franchise I will miss the most switching xbone to ps4. I've never played the GT franchise. One of my favorite features of Forza is the rewind feature. Is that something you can do in GT?

Not available in GT5. Might be in GT6 but my guess is definitely not. In fact I'd bet on it.

Got a text message today that I could pick my preorder up , to bad tha gamestore is roughly 115 miles from where I am at the moment. Guess I'll pick it up Friday afternoon. I'm excited but not hyped due to the disappointment GT5 was to me.

From what I can tell, the car prices in GT6 are comparable to the car prices in GT5.  I have played GT5 since it was released in November 2010 and have a garage that now totals over 1200 cars.  Some cars were bought with real money, since they were DLC and in Gran Turismo, if you buy a car that is DLC, it goes right to your garage (after you "unload" it from the truck).  But most were bought with credits earned in-game.  I did the career events for the first year or so, but I also had my bspec drivers grind for credits using a really fast car, such as the X1.  I also have done the "seasonal" events since Day 1.  I expect GT6 to have similar options for gaining credits, including the seasonal events and the bspec mode.  Moreover, if you get the 15th anniversary edition, you get 25 free cars in your garage, some of which are otherwise quite expensive to buy in-game.  Those cars should allow us to complete a lot of career, seasonal and bspec events with significant payouts.  Accordingly, I doubt that I will need to buy credits with real world money.  It is there for folks that want to, but certainly will not be a requirement in order to reasonably advance in the game.

I'm totally with Zero on his immpressions of how the GT6 economy will be as in not a big deal.

More curious why Zeratul was so disappointed with GT5? I've heard the odd numbered GT games (first on each new console appparently?) have traditionally underperformed their even numbered predecessor or is it something different?

GT5 was my first GT game and while there are some really poor game options (compared to my favorite at the time Forza series) I thought the cars, tracks and physics were awesome and still do. On-line is still missing some great options available in FM4 but it also has numerous great options that FM4 does not including Parcells personal favorite...driving the track while you wait until the host starts the race. GT6 will have qually sessions too so giddy up!

With what I just read on the GT Planet forums I do have a little more of a concern now. Seems the on-line and seasonal event payouts are not very lucrative which is a slight concern for me because once I put in my 6-20 hours of single play I rely solely on on-line winnigs to support our race events for the life of the game.

On the flip side I'm not much of a car collector so I'm sure I'll manage and realistically there's probably only a small percentage of cars (the real expensive ones) that will be hard to schedule in an event because of the costs and all participants ability to purchase. In GT5 I have just over 200 cars and barely over 100 in FM4.

Still expect PD to offer something either temporary or permanent (go back to high paying seasonal events) if its as drastic as some people seem to think it is???

It seems like the entire world is playing Gran Turismo 6 except for those of us in Canada or the US.  This is bull#$#@.  This is the most significant game release for me in three years.  It cannot get here fast enough.  I even took the day off from work tomorrow.  I plan to be at Game Stop tomorrow morning before it even opens!!!

For those of you new to GT you should know that you are awarded different cars for completing series, license tests etc. Point being it is good to know what you can eventually win so you don’t waste credits purchasing a car you can win later on. Below is what I’ve found so far. For a series of races I think you need to win every race to win the car prize.

Career
Novice (All Stars) gives Renault Sport Clio R.S. '11 (confirmed)
National B (Half of all Stars) gives Lancia DELTA HF Integrale Evoluzione '91

Licences
National B licence gives Renault Clio RS '11 <- correct?
National A licence gives Honda S2000 '06 (confirmed)
National A licence (Gold) gives KTM X-BOW Street '12 (confirmed)

Missions
National B (Gold) gives Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR T.M. EDITION Special Color Package '99 (confirmed)

We are in the middle of a snow dump here in Oregon.  Mother nature is clearly trying to keep me from getting GT6.  But, she will not succeed.  I have four wheel drive on my car!!!!
