Sell a merc spend the 20mil, then sell another merc then spend etc etc
If you run out of cars too buy spend the rest of the credits from the remaining mercs on a GTO's or Jag's at 20,000,000 each. That way once you reinstall version 1.01 you will have a few GTO's etc to sell for 7 million each as back up cash.

I did the glitch last night. I used both the Mercedes and the new BMW to make it happen. I think I got a total of about $100 million credits and was able to buy many of my favorite cars, including the Chapparal 2J race car, the Minolta Toyota race car, the 1970 Toyota race car and the Mazda 787 race car. When I went to sell one of my last BMWs, however, I accidentally changed to that car while I was in Version 1.0 and the game started to lock up and freeze on me. To fix the problem, I had to re-install the 1.01 patch. So, be careful that you do not select the Mercedes or BMW as the default car while you are in Version 1.0. Otherwise, you will likely experience the same freezing problem I did.
I am still debating whether to do the glitch again this weekend. It would be very easy to acquire all cars in the game doing this, but I think there is still some fun in working to acquire the other 1100 cars in the game that I do not yet have. I was able to get almost all cars in GT5 without using any sort of glitch, but it took me almost three years and many highly paying seasonal events and bspec grinding to make it happen. I do not think I have that in me again, nor do I think my 2006 60 GB launch PS3 could survive such use. LOL!

I'll probably play out for the rest of my credits though, as I don't need every car in the game, nor do I want 30 mx-5 variations clogging my garage
I do wonder, like many, if this isn't a calculated move by PD to move some disks. Seems like alot of people that were sitting on the fence are now buying the game so they can take advantage of this
This is pretty easy to fix and keep the cars at the same buying price.
If they change the coding that is used when selling the car back to the game and change it to somthing cheaper and that is already on the 1.0 version when you sell the car it would give you the other cars ammount and not 33,333,333 as it will read the coding correctly for the car alread on the disk version.
Well that was a shit load of work but well worth it and for sure the most fun I had with a racing game using a controller since Forza 1. I may have went a bit overboard though LOL? Bought about 70 M4's instead of the Merc, pruchased almost 300 cars, ones I want to drive at some point and probably every car over 1 million. Currently have a credit balance of 48 million and about 40 250 GTO's which can be sold at 6 mill apiece should I never need credits again. Doing the math I spent about 1.4 billion credits this afternoon.

Way to Go Parcells...I know what you mean with the load of work...Had to reload my limited edition cars then just to see the cars on the car list I had to click each one to download the images of the vehicles...I will never understand that move unless I am clueless about doing all vehicles at once!...Hoping nothing changes in the near future with the procedure. The Grind does get very old. I still believe like Snappy that they did this on purpose..Either that or someone accidently had a epiphany when deleted the the update after buying the Mercedes and then decided to sell it.....The odds are probably equal with the Power Ball....Great Marketing Strategy if it is true...

We have cars to build and test, events to plan and random SIM racing goodness to waste boatloads of time with. I don't want to wait anxiously for a year or more for a title to release (FM5, GT6 and some others) to then have to work for months to get to drive a virtual car. I want to drive/race them, paint them and sometimes just stare at them for an inordinate amount of time while the thing sits there on the screen. i know they are not real and that I don't actually "own" them but I dare one of you here to tell me you don't catch yourself staring at your prized "possession" on the screen from time to time. Especially when you thrown some livery you just received or completed.. C'mon....i know you do. LOL

I ended up doing it too, but I'm pretty sure it's not intentional as to buy 7mil credits costs £39.99!!!

You can do a select all and download the car images at once. Would still take time but its faster then doing them individually
