You can't have wireless as they don't do that. Best you can do is only having the wire that goes to the controller. This comes with the adapter and the XO4s are about as good as it gets right now. It doesn't matter if your headset is surround sound or not, the controller forces simulated surround sound so that's what you'll get anyway. http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Force-Performance-Gaming-Headset/dp/B...

PixelSkills had a few different headsets on the Xbox One and he had a lot of issues with them (send him a PM or I'll see if I can get him to chime in here. I just used the stock headset.

I have the Microsoft Stereo headset. Using it since March and no audio complaints. $79.

Quite good sounding.

Minor complaint is my eye glasses cause a squeaky sound from rubbing against the arms. The cable, to controller, is slightly inconvienient.

Bottom line, now that I have these, I would not look for a different set.

I am using the same head set as for my 360 -- TB Ear Force Tango, special version of the XP400's.  These are wireless and work fine with the $25.00 adapter.  I have Digital optical connected between the XBONE and headset base unit.  I can't use the bluetooth for chat but the 2.5 cm pin hookup between headset and adapter works fine for chat.

I have the Polk 4 Shot headset http://www.polkaudio.com/images/products/medium/747192124427.jpg

comfort is great. They feel very well built.  Sound is good.  The chat was flawed, their cool drop down mic did not work as intended.  Polk says it is the way all game and chat sound is passed through your controller.  To make things right Polk mailed out a boom mic to all the folks who had already purchased the headset.  The boom is inline from the headset to the controller.  The cool drop down mic is not used.  My chat is better, people can hear me better.  All in all, I am not sorry I bought them, however I would not recommend them.  They are built better than any turtle beaches I have bought......but I still miss the sound and chat quality of my 360 turtle beaches. (X42's)

where turtle beach is concered, it is the quality that is my beef.  They feel cheap.......but sound great.  My wife and I have been through a few pairs of turtle beaches...I got lucky, I feel, with the above mentioned pair.  If they go down I will not buy the x42's again.

my wife uses turtle beach x12's. Cheaper and are wired from headset to the 360.  They work....did I mention they were cheaper...LOL. Her x42's broke twice. (Sound, chat, etc.)

we have tried other brands along the way, not worth mentioning.

what Deep NNN has above is not a bad place to start for 79.00

i think my problem with XB1 headsets lies in the controller all sound passes through.  Not sure, but that is my feeling.  I would bet that DEEP's game and chat sound is as good as mine, maybe better?

hope I helped the mind screw,

Ded

ps. My Polks have no voice feedback in my ears. Hard to get used to cuz on the 360 you get voice feedback.

These look really nice and i have had great luck with everything Razor up to this point, I might give them a call and see which headphones are Xbone comaptable.

Or do some U-Tube/internet research, see what i can find.

I've also got the 4-shot headphones and I enjoy them.  To my knowledge, only the Polks, the Turtle Beach set, and the Microsoft ones are the onle "true" Xbone compatible ones.  I believe I heard that Polk is coming out with a second generation, but I know nothing about that.  If that's true, you may even want to wait for those/another wave of headphones.

They seem like lesser phones.

I just got the TB XO7 headset and feel like they are really nice. The sound and comfort are excellent.

My only issue is, as Ded mentioned, there is no voice feedback so it's really strange talking after coming from the 360.

I wasn't having a problem with the lack of voice feedback until I got my hearing aids. Now I feel like I need to yell sometimes. Weird. I hope it can be added to the firmware.

I've also got a set of teh X07s, and am really happy with how they fit.  Between my glasses and large-ish head they are still comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time which was a huge selling point for me.

Sound is good enough for me.  Sounds better than the off brand sound bar attached to the TV.

Heys Guys,

Anyone ever use these?

LINK

Do they even work on the Xbone? They look really REALLY nice and i can find some on amizon for the same price as TB XO7's ....they just may be a little to complex/finicky comparedto the Plug and play TB XO7's...

Thoughts?

DarthT, Question: what do you mean by

"My only issue is, as Ded mentioned, there is no voice feedback so it's really strange talking after coming from the 360."?

What do you mean by "voice feedback"?

Well the best way to experience what I mean is to stick a finger in both of your ears and then talk. The muffled sound what it's like talking while wearing a headset with not feedback. My OLD Turtle Beach X3 set had a slight amount of voice "feedback" so that when you talked, it didn't sound muffled.

Astros shoud work, but you'll need to probably connect the mixamp to the TV - not 100% sure. You will also still need to buy the Microsoft Headset Adapter.

I love the exclamations!!!! Lol

voice feedback would be, being able to hear yourself talk in the headset speakers.  The chat  mic puts your voice back to you as well as sends your voice to others.

When I am playing on my Xb1 using my xb1 headset,  they fit so well that I cannot hear myself talk if the game sound is turned up.  It makes it hard to know if you are yelling into the mic or not.  If I am chatting with someone, I have the game sound waaaaay lower than I would like just so I can chat with people.

I have the Turtle Beach XO7's, and they work great with the console; the only issue that I have with them is they are powered directly by the controller, so drain the battery pack far quicker, than say with a self powered headset, like my Sony Pulse Elite that I use for the PS4.

I used to have the Xbox One and have tried multiple headsets including:

Polk 4 shots, Turtle Beach XO7, Astro A50

Polk 4 shots sound good, the chat function is flawed. People will not be able to hear you on your Xbone while using the mic, there is no sidetone feature so you will always feel like you are screaming. The boom mic they offered is cheap and works, but when you spend 160 on a headset you want the mic you originally bought to work. Sound is ok, better while you listening to music. This headset actually works 10x better on the PS4, you can actually turn your voice up on the PS4 but when using the Xbone there is no option. DONT BUY THESE!

XO7 - Crap, the soundstage sucks, you cant hear footsteps as well as the Polks. The mic works but again there is no sidetone on these so you will find yourself screaming into your mic. DONT BUY!

Astro A50 - Great headset, unfortunatly their customer service sucks. When your using the Xbone there is a sidetone, but when using the PS4 there is not because you have to have the chat cable from the headset to the controller connected for the sidetone to turn on. Astro has been promising a custom EQ for years now and still have not released it. There are NOO features for a $300 headset. It sucks because this headset does sound amazing. DONT BUY!

There really are no great options currently for PS4 or Xbone, but turtle beach is coming out with new headsets in October that are suposidly going to blow every other headset out of the water. They are offering full wireless connectivity to both the PS4 and Xbone and offer a new surround sound tech called DTS headphone X, which should be incredible! Ill include some links to the headsets.

PS4

Elite 800 - http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/ps4-headsets/turtle-beach-elite-800/551

Stealth 400 - http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/ps4-headsets/ear-force-stealth-400/550

Xbox One

Stealth 500x - http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/xbox-one-headsets/ear-force-stealth-500x/552

XO One - http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/xbox-one-headsets/ear-force-xo-one/553

If I were any of you with the Xbox One I would just wait for the Stealth 500X and for PS4 owners if you want to spend the money def wait for the Elite 800 like I am now. I have returned my A50 because the customer support sucks and I need sidetone, I returned the XO7 just because they also have no sidetone and lets be honest surround sound is better!

Still using my TB X42's that I origianlly bought for my 360. Along with the adapter ($25), they work fine. Plus, I can still use them on my 360 of course. If you still use your 360, I would recommend getting a good headset for the 360, and then adapter. If you only have an Xbone, get one of the new ones. You should be satisfied either way.

Thinking about pre-ordering this TB one:

http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/xbox-one-headsets/ear-force-stealth-500x/552

7.1 Surround, completely wireless.  Essentially what we've been waiting for.

Been looking at the stealth 500 as well.  My Ear Force Tango works with the $25 adapter but I don't get mic monitoring so I have no idea if I am being heard.

http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/xbox-one-headsets/ear-force-st... I'd wait for these. I had the Astro's A50 and sent them back. They are wonderful when they work. IMO they were engineered for the previous gen and have way to many issues for the xbox one. I know others have had no issues. My x42 sounded better. I'll be getting the Turtle Beach 500x's when they are released.

Hey guys! I bought the Astro A50's and got them working (huge pain in the ASS, but worth it!) I got them off Amazon for 200.00, about 100.00 and change off list price.

If anyone has them and needs help getting them paired and locked in on an Xbox 1 let me know, I got the A50's locked down. The 5.1 dolby surround is epic!

Looking forward to the 9th!

So after having alot of trouble finding a good headset heres what I picked up. Instead of spending 300 and getting probably another crappy Turtle Beach headset I decided to spend 300 on a mixamp/audiophile gaming headset.

I went with the Astro Mixamp which outputs dolby 7.1 to any headset.

For my cans I went with the Sennheiser G4ame One. They are open air headset so you can hear yourself talk still.

All in all it was pretty damn expensive but was fully worth it. This setup sounds incredible, the headset is not very bassy but having true audiophile sound isnt about bass heavy. The gunshots sound real and there is just enough bass to be powerful yet balanced. As far as the Mic I have not tested it out yet but Sennheiser makes some of the best microphones you can buy on the market so im sure it would be amazing.

If you guys have any questions let me know.

Update on Polk. http://www.polkaudio.com/products/strikers

i saw these and decided to call customer service. Their cust. Serv. is a breath of fresh air, very nice people to talk to. On hold for approx one min.

bad news is, the 4 shot will get no more improvements from Polk.  The boom mic is what I will have to use to chat.  He had no answer for mic monitoring. I had to explain to him what it was.  I also explained how important mic monitoring is to me as a gamer involved in an online gaming community.  Told him how frustrated I am because the 4shots are great but are missing some key things.

He moved on to the new headset the Sriker.  I told him that was the other reason for my call.  I wanted to know if mic monitoring will be included in these.  He said he has tried them and he does not think it is part of their new headset.  They are still working on them and learned from the 4 shots that Microsoft is not going to give them all the help they need.  This why they made their own adapter to plug into the controller. I went on to say that no mic monitoring is a deal breaker for me and that I would probably stick with Polk if they could get all the things I need in one headset.  Fit and quality of their first try in the gaming market was almost perfect. I also said I do not want to see Polk leave the gaming market because new blood is needed for the competition.

blah, blah.  Talked to the guy for almost an hour.  His dad has worked for Polk for 30 years.  Blah, blah.  Super nice guy, good talk.

he is sending me a free pair of Strikers when they release.  Also, he is going to talk to the sound guys about mic monitoring.  Hope my chat with him makes a difference.

Ded, how could the guy not know what mic monitoring is then know what it is and was going to talk to the sound guys about it? Weird.

Hopefully the Strikers work out for you though. If they're good enough, it might give me something to put on my Christmas list.

I'd dearly love to try out the XB1 TB, Polk and etc. in store. My MS headset speakers sound really good but the other hardware is kind of chinchy.

he knew because I explained to him what it was early in our conversation.  The guy said he plays video games so he understood from his own experience.  He did not know the terminology nor does he chat with people online much, so it is a feature that he does not look for. ( I didn't know the correct terminology until I didn't have the feature and poked around here)

the strikers will not work out for me unless they get mic monitoring included.  I told him that but he still wants me to try them out and let him know what I think.

If you want a great headset get the Sennheiser G4me One, It does not have Mic Monitoring but it is open ear which means it allows air in and allows you to hear whats going on around you so you dont really need Mic Monitoring. Unfortunately I had a defective one that I had to send back but the sound is incredible! Its an expensive headset at around $200 but its worth it!

If they end up with voice monitoring and the 4-Shot don't, let me know.  I might sell my 4-shot headphones and grab those then.  I was a little miffed with the NFC microphone not quite working, but I do love how Polk handled it.
