Early Saturday, Early Trans Am. Laguna Seca 7:30amEST, 6:30amCST, 12:30pmGST
I would like to do a race THIS saturday the 24th of August. The time is going to be 7:30AMEST, 6:30AMCST, and should be 12:30PM GST.
Yes that is a weird time slot. I'm aware. This is not only to host a race I would like to see on track but as an experiment with both the cars and time slot for a future series.
The idea for the race is a vintage Trans-Am race.
Cars will be B500. Track will be Laguna Seca
These will include the 69 Camaro Z28, 69 Firebird Trans Am, 70 Boss 429 Mustang, 71, 70 Couger Eliminator, 70 Dodge Challenger RT, 70 Plymouth Cuda and possibly 1 or 2 others I'll have to log onto the xbox and check the cars.
IF participation is high enough I would like to do a C425 small bore class on track at the same time. If participation is not high enough we can run TWO races with large and small bore cars.
Small bore class will consist of the BMW 2002, Alfa Sprint GTA and the Datsun 510.
That is pretty much it. It's just for fun. I will use the information from this weekends race to move forward with series ideas, possible time slot changes etc. It's a test for me.
I will post tunes for the 69 Camaro and the 69 Firebird. I also shared both cars in the club garage.
I'm going to shoot for a SPEC build on the B500 cars. Please build as follows.

4:00 AM is a bit early for me but I might just do it.
Is this build what you want upto B500 or is the spec build?
Lets do spec builds....
I'm posting up specs now and tomorrow.
The C425 small bore cars are open build for now.
Be careful with the BMW 2002. It tends to dominate. I say that from previous experience with it against the 510 and the Alfa. Let me know if you need anything. I know we talked earlier and tried some cars out but just wanted to throw this out there. Also, count me in!
I should make it.... Z28
I get A503 on that z build but if I change rear tire width to 265 it drops to B500
I'll double check the tire width. I know that's what I did-bring the rear width down until I got B500. I think it was the 3rd from widest option.
I put the 69 Camaro, 69 Firebird, and 70 Couger in the garage...I'll post the build for the Couger later, and put it on my storefront.
I'll get a Challenger, Cuda, and Boss Mustang built too
Hey Stewie the difference is in the chassis reinforcement. It should have been street and not sport. I edited the first post. Sorry about that!
Ok that worked but 40+ lbs :(
It should be lighter than the way you had it.
Yes it is lol my bad.
All of these cars are very equal. I may have added a car or two to the club garage that the build isn't posted for yet. I know it's REAL late notice but if I can post the builds for other cars later tonight.
FWIW All of them seem like 1.39/1.40 lap time cars.
I'll throw up some small bore cars in the club garage as well but I don't have time to test them to make sure the builds create equal capabilities. I think that I'll take Snappy's advice and run the BMW at C415, and the Datsun and Alfa at C425.
I moved the time up 1/2 hour. So 7:30 EST, 12:30PM GST.
I'll probably be on a bit early for practice too if anyone wants to jump in. Maybe we could run other tracks with these cars for practice if anyone is up in time. Then we can get some practice in at Laguna, and then try and start on time.
From the looks of things it may only be a few of us.....Maybe we will get a few Euro guys jumping in as well.
I would love to but I'm just heading out to work.
Only had a few guys.....Maybe the time slot is 'that' obscure or maybe it was just the late notice. I'm not sure.
In any event I think I'm going to hang onto these builds. Tweak maybe the Mustang, and definately the BMW in the small bore category.
I want to try an early morning slot again next week to see if numbers improve. If not this Trans am series just might be the new Thursday night series when the AIX series is over.
This will be a short one too so the series doesn't get "long in the tooth"
Laguna Seca
Road America
Road Atlanta
Sebring
And then we would be done
So sorry I missed it. 4 month old had a shitty night. I have my Mercury and Datsun ready for next time.
I would have joined but was watching F1 qualifying
Although Im usually up around 5-6 AM during the week for work, its just too early for me on a Satuday morning to one, be awake and two, being able to race decently. Series sounds like fun though
Sounds like how i am for the 2am races lol
