* The cars featured in the Limited Edition Car Pack and the Day One Edition Car Pack of Forza Motorsport 5 have been customized with unique Xbox One liveries and feature custom tunes designed by the developers at Turn 10 to improve performance above their stock counterparts. The stock versions of these cars will also be available on disc in Forza Motorsport 5.
So, if I don't want the tuned/T-10 liveried editions, they will be available in the showroom?
The only unique things about the Day One and LE car packs are the tunes and liveries. All the cars in those packs are available in-game. No exclusives.

The VIP Cars are exclusive but if T10 follows the same pattern for Forza 5, VIP access will be offered to the masses about six months after release. The same should hold true for any pre-order cars they offer as well. IIRC the pre-order cars were available after three months.
VIP cars
1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird
1991 Mazda #55 787B
2011 Ford F150 SVT Raptor
2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
If you're planning on getting the XBox One within a couple months after launch the VIP membership benefits are probably still worth the money. It also might still be cheaper the get the LCE than buying the regular version and picking up the VIP and car packs down the road.
Here's the link to T10's info on the LCE. Hope it helps you make your decision.
I'm in the same boat as you. For me I think the LCE decision comes down to how well T10 supports the VIP members over the long term. They're really good inthe short term but not over the life cycle of the game. Since I also don't know when/if I'll be getting the XBox One I'm planning on skipping the LCE for Forza 5.

So they are in fact only offering those VIP cars? That's it? Oh, and some half arsed liveries and tunes, that I guarantee will not make me any faster than even my tunes.
VIP Membership – Forza Motorsport 5 VIPs enjoy exclusive benefits, including 2x player reward acceleration, access to exclusive multiplayer events, an exclusive in-game player card badge, and in-game gifts from the Forza community team.** VIPs will also have access to the Forza Motorsport 5 VIP Car Pack, featuring five amazing cars only available to VIP members.
They are spot on saying that VIP's get access to exclusive content. As an LCE owner, you'll get that access about six months before everyone else. Any gifts the T10 team gives out during those first few months should only go to the LCE owners. That would be the main difference between someone who gets VIP status at launch versus someone who buys it later on that didn't get the LCE. I'm basing this off what their track record has been for FM3, FM4 and Horizon. Not sure if they have anything else planned.
I might go back and do a quick cost analysis between someone who bought the FM4 LCE vs. someone buying the regular version and then purchasing VIP later on. My guess is the LCE player may have saved a couple bucks.
If you play Forza more than 20 hours a week, are obsessed with simracing and plan on eventually getting an XBONE the I think it's worth it. May as well change your pre-order now even if your not a day one guy. I just want those special prize cars clogging up my garage. I hate that.
Pass. I'm going 100% digital with xbone.
with 3 and 4 lce was a waste of money for me. With the auction house gone you can't even make use of that anymore.
Digital Downloads!!

I kind a agree about this, but I'm a car whore and the more DLC the better...and there's still VIP cars gifted out...painters got to have something to paint.

Don't tuners?
I don't want to sound ungrateful for gifts, but they're simply not necessary. I have so many credits that I'll never spend. Outside of unicorns (which I find most to be uninteresting) I can simply buy any car I want.
In FM3 I collected them all, while in FM4 my garage is quite sparse as I only keep the cars I'm actually interested in driving. I've definately narrowed my focus this time around, and I would expect that in FM5 I'll narrow it even further.
I won't be shelling out for a season's pass (if available), or dlc car packs this time. I'll cherry pick only those individual cars from packs that I'm truly interested in driving. Call it lessons learned.

I might get it for the VIP alone though, it's nice to get cars and VIP events access, even if the storefronts gone...
Should I preorder the limited edition even though I'm not sure when I'll be getting the Xbox One?
Yes Fitzy!
I'm going to even if the whole Fanatec thing means I don't play Forza 5.
I can always sell it on for more than I bought it if its unopened with codes intact.
No Fitzy!
Poidsly could be right but Parcells doesn't think you should limit your options.
I'm curious the LE be available digitally.
But what about the decals and shiny box my precious!
And Parcells, stop attempting to use the force here.
Must not order the LE Edition, good that not is.

What exactly does VIP membership give me?
Confused am I!
Looks less attractive now it does.
And continued free VIP cars down the road, which will probably be the deciding factor for me and the VIP (Rivals) events...
Fitzy, I'll be grabbing the LCE before I get a One as well...I didn't see it on Amazon yet.
Just get it. You know you want it......baby.
i wil be ordering even if i cant get the box to January, im a little OCD with forza content
Fitzy , "This "IS" the limited edition set I want to buy " .............. "This is the limited edition set I want to buy " move a long move a long.
Inkabod - Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Fitzy.
May the "Forza 5 limited edition day one edition be with you"
*runs to Best Buy to change pre-order*
I posted this in the Forza 5 forums and was wondering why no one posted on it....now I see said the blind man
I gave Gamestop my money yesterday......I think its worth the money...especialy if they give you a car a month like they did before

Forza 5 Limited Edition pre-order placed with Best Buy today
Anyone heard anything out of Amazon yet? I like their "lowest price" set up, but I haven't seen F5 there yet in the LE.
