360 Marketplace: Price Gouging?

Chromehounds now has a downloadable content for new armor and such. There are ten new content downloads, each 100 points...

The content is labeled:
  • Light arms 01
  • Heavy arms 02
  • Light arms 03
  • Light arms 04
  • Spacer 01
  • Light arms 05
  • Spacer 02
  • Generator 01
  • Spacer 03
  • Color Pattern 03

That is ten content updates, so lets do some math: 10 x 100 points = 1,000 points.

That's USD $12.50 for the full list of content updates. Seems high for a few addons no? Considering that some of the Marketplace games (full release) are less money than that.

Anyway, if your big into Chromehounds, you got some stuff you can buy. Personally, I'd refrain to show the developers that this is too much money for basic addon features.

Q, a 2old2play gamer, also posted information for me on this news tidbit. Here is what he had to say:
I'm not happy with this for a couple of reasons.

1. I definitely think that 100 points ($1.25) a piece is way too much for the content, but beyond that it may throw off the balance. Now in order to stay compeitive are you going to be forced to buy more equipment upgrades? This could have easily been bundled into an upgrade pack for 400 points.

2. Is this a sign of things to come? Are developers going to start nickel and diming us to death with these microtransactions? Are we going to be forced to start spending more money just to stay competitive in our favorite games? Hopefully this is just an experiment that will prove this is to "micro" for it's own good.

This may be the wost premium content from a price standpoint since the horse armor, and I thought they had already learned their lesson with that.
