Apparently Bungie and Ensemble Studios have been working a product known as Halo Wars. This RTS game is being designed by Ensemble, a well known RTS developer, using Bungie's storline and intellectual property.
The Halo Wars team are die hard Halo fans and they know what gamers want in an RTS using the Halo name and story. This is why Bungie has accepted them into their little private clan of Halo developers.
Ironically, this brings Halo back to its roots. The original game was to be developed as an RTS but was turned first-person-shooter (FPS) before long. Now, a few years later, it is back to the RTS genre for another new franchise hit.
