Electronic Arts made an annoucement over in Japan about a Sim City DS game in the coming months for Japanese release. North America not far behind?
No word (in English anyway) of a Sim City DS release for North America, but I'm sure it will not be far behind a Japanese release.
Sim City for the DS is supposed to mimic the features and functionality of the PC Sim City 3000 with full stylus usage and dual screen utilization. Modes of play include:
The annoucement was made in Famitsu, a japanese video game magazine. No news on this any North American magazines but its typical that a Japanese release (especially a game like Sim City) would be translated and brought to North American and Europe at a later date.
Just what we needed on our DS, a good, well known, Sim game!

- Build a New City: Start from scratch and build up your city (typical mode of play).
- Save a City: A pre-built scenario where you jump in to take charge of "missions" such as fixing traffic patterns, etc.
- The Sister City: Let you chat with other DS players and trade "landmarks."
