Spore to hit the Wii?

Will Wright, The Sims creator, is loving the Wii and what it might do for game design.

Ok, so making a publication involving the "Wii" always sounds dirty, but anyway...

Will Wright has stated that the Nintendo Wii may be the next host for the upcoming game Spore. He states that its unique design and control scheme offers interesting creative opportunities for game designers. Will is definately into designing interesting and creative games.

His resume of games: SimCity, SimEarth, SimCopter, SimAnt and The Sims redefined simulation games (in good and bad ways). Many people may have found SimEarth boring but many others loved SimCity and all its sequels. Now, Nintendo is handing him a new powerful tool to increase his creativity? It's not too suprising that Spore would be making its name on the Wii.

Will also hinted that many Spore releases across all the platforms may look and act differently. The hand-held game might be only part of a larger picture, which could require you to own Spore on many platforms to get the full experience. He stated that Spore is going to launch as an entire Franchise across all platforms of video game entertainment.

The game will initially release for the PC and we must all wait and wonder "is it going to be as big as The Sims?" (the top selling PC game in history)
