Ubisoft North American President Laurent Detoc says his company has seven upcoming titles for the Wii. He loves the console.
When speaking at the Ziff Davis Electronic Games Summit in Napa, Laurent went on to say that he expects the Wii console to have "a large audience and market." This coming from a head honcho of a large publisher holds a great deal of weight. He gave praise to the Wii serveral times during his speech.
Ubisoft produces many games across many platforms and has development studios around the globe. Including the Wii as a platform for Ubisoft games may be a no brainer but praising it as he hs done definately raises an eyebrow.
If a developer/publisher finds a console interesting and fun they will be enthusiastic when developing content for said console. Ubisoft already has seven games lined up (too bad we don't know what they all are) for a "kids" console. Red Steel and Rayman Raving Rabbids are only two of the titles in question.
Maybe this Wii thing is going to have lots of great 3rd party games after all...?
