There is a new "rumor," reported by Bloomberg, that says Nintendo plans to release the Wii's answer to the lazy body. Similar to the Nintendo DS answer to the "lazy brain."
No public announcements from Nintendo, but the concept would not be too far from a reality given Nintendo's recent hand-held games: Brain Age and Big Brain Academy.
Everyone knows the Wii will require more movement than a stock console system with that crazy Wiimote controller. Now imagine using that controller for specific non-lazy activities. People are already complaining that first-person-shooters are going to require them to actually burn calories holding their hand out - if you apply that logic to an actual diet application you have yourself a new breed of "game."
Nintendo says they want to bring in more non-gamers and re-light the fire of the casual gamer? What better way to do this then introduce dieting. Everyone knows that 60% of the US population could lose a few pounds anyway....
