The folks over at joystiq were able to play the Wii's upcoming title Excite Truck at a GameStop kiosk. Yet, they had to hand over forms of identification and credit cards before the kiosk was powered up and playable.
Why? The controller of course! In order to play the Wii you're going to need to be able to move that little controller around like a madman. How would one do this if restricted by cords? You can't. So, as a solution, GameStop holds your personal belongings so that you give back theirs (the controller).
This will put a damper on little kids that want to walk up and play (although the audience around you will grow with pre-teens). How odd, a "kids console" restricted to those old enough to hold a Visa and a drivers license.
