XBox Live Marketplace has reached a record 50-million downloads. The Microsoft PR team has also posted some neat statistics...
That is a large quantity of traffic and yet more proof that the Xbox Live Marketplace is in full swing and continues to be the next-generation reality. Will Sony and Nintendo be able to unleash a larger fury?
And some cool Madden '07 facts:
Anyone want to guess what the fastest most anticipated Xbox Live Markeplace item was? Texas Hold 'em of course! Given that gamers had 24-hours to download it before paying points to get it, all gamers logged in during that time to pull down the game. That doesn't mean they've played it since it landed on their hard-disks (i.e. I myself own it, but have not played it).
Other neat statistics that MajorNelson mentions on his blog:
Two-Billion Microsoft points!? That sounds like a healthy network model to me. I suck at math so I'm not going to try to figure it out but I know that the value is more than I currently hold in my personal checking account...
Thanks to TANK for the update

- Over 60% of Xbox 360 owners are connected to XBL.
- 1,300,000 text and voice messages are sent through Xbox Live every day.
- Over 8-million downloads of XBLA games following the launch of the Xbox 360
- Over 2-billion Microsoft points sold to date (do the math here folks...)
