EA and Mythic Entertainment have started closed beta sign-ups for their upcoming MMORPG based on the beloved Warhammer 40K license, Warhammer Online: Day of Reckoning.
For sign-ups, one only needs to fill out the forms and wait.
The chief aspects of WO:DOR that keeps it from being a "Me, Too" MMO are twofold:
1. The Warhammer 40K universe is a grim setting, and although it features elves, dwarves, orcs and trolls, these ain't your D&D Daddy's elves, dwarves, orcs and trolls. These are futuristic, gun-weilding nasty brutes. This is one bad-ass license.
2. Mythic Entertainment developed the criminally underrated Dark Age of Camelot, though after Trials of Atlantis, some think they shot themselves in the foot. However, that MMO features the best player-vs.-player of any online game in its three-way "Realm Vs. Realm" regions.
