Epic is keeping true to it’s word and continues to work on upgrades for Gears of War.
Word of a new update in the works came right from the horses mouth, Mark Rein posted in the official Gears of War forums saying “the update is coming along nicely.”
This update will take advantage of the new rules around Achievements that Microsoft announced earlier in the year. When the update releases, it will include new achievements based the Annex game which became available in the last update as well as achievements based on the Hidden Fronts map pack. Of course if you don’t want to pay for the map pack, it will become free in September due to the compromise worked out between Epic and Microsoft on charging for that content.
Along with new achievements, the update will include improvements to roadie running, further exploit squashing and general ‘housekeeping’. Just like the last update, this update will be free of charge though you will need to pay for the Hidden Fronts map pack to get those achievements if you don’t want to wait until September.
