Welcome to a new month of gaming fellow gamers! This first week of April features a long awaited RPG to the U.S., Star Wars goodness, more re-release madness, and some lazy fishermen (redundant, I know).
Game Releases- Week of April 2nd 2012
And now......... here are the releases.
Multiplatform Releases
Devil May Cry HD Collection (XBOX360, PS3)- Re-release of the Devil May Cry Series in HD.. Collection includes the original Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening. Three games for $39.99.
Fallout3/Oblivion Double Pack (XBOX360, PC)- While re-releases seem to be a theme this year, this may be the best one of the year. Two very good RPG’s by Bethesda and at a reduced price. The 360 version will be on sale for $30 and the PC for only $20. Not available on PS3 at this time.
XBOX 360 Releases
Kinect Star Wars- Imagine all of your Star Wars fantasies coming true. Thanks to your Kinect, you can now swing lightsabers, race in a pod racer, ride through the forests of Endor, and dance in the cantina...... huh? Dance in the Cantina?? No, never wanted to do that. Game of the week also receives a nomination for the “What were they smoking?” award. Dancing should never be in a Star Wars game.... NEVER!!!! Leave that to the Kinect Country Line Dancing games.
PS3 Releases
Pro Angler Moves- Perfect game for those that like to fish, but are too lazy to fish. Game is available for PS3 Move and there is even a fishing pole accessory. Nothing more needs to be said.
Wii Releases
Xenoblade Chronicles- This RPG has been waiting to arrive in the US for almost 2 years and has reviewed VERY well. The game claims to have over 100 hours of gameplay and a world almost the size of Japan! This might be a must-buy for Japanese RPG fans.
PC Releases
Blacklight: Retribution- This first person shooter is a sequel to Blacklight: Tango Down. The best part of this game is that it is free to play! Some in-game items do cost money, however.
Confrontation- A real-time strategy game with RPG elements based on the board game. Gamers choose between 4 factions and use experience gained throughout the story to level up the team. Multiplayer options consist of only head to head battles.
Shoot Many Robots- If they had to pay an advertising team to come up with this title, they need to get their money back. Game includes 4 player multiplayer co-op.
Arcade and DLC releases
Forza Motorsport 4: April Alpinestars Pack (XBOX DLC) This ten car pack is available for 560 Microsoft points.
Tropico 4: Modern Times (PC Expansion)- new expansion to Tropico features and all new campaign, new buldings, challenges, and edicts for your dictator.
And now for the award sweeping the nation, the “What were they smoking?” Award. This week’s award goes to Titanic Mystery for the Wii. We all know the fate of the original Titanic- the ill fated ship that met its demise and the old senile lady and her love of Leonardo DiCaprio. Oh, and the iceberg thing too. Well, in Titanic Mystery, they came up with the ingenious idea of rebuilding the Titanic. This time, instead of an iceberg, there is a bomb on board!!! Oh noes!!! Thankfully, there is one person on board to solve this mystery. And what better way to solve this mystery than a slew of mini games! Why are they all old clothes? What about the people in third class? Who cares... MINIGAMES!!!! For all of the above, Titanic Mystery, you get the award. Wear it proudly.
And that's it. Happy Gaming 2old2play!
