GHIII: One Mess-up Down, One to Go

While we’re all enjoying the latest Guitar Hero like fat kids on pancakes, a few unlucky gamers have run into some problems that just shouldn’t have come up.

Starting with the most widespread issue, and one that has been known about for a few weeks: offline co-op mode’s existence, or lack thereof. The good news is that if you picked up the Xbox 360 version of GHIII, everything should be fine and dandy, and you should now be able to play offline co-op play, assuming you downloaded the title update.

The bad news for PS3 and Wii owners, however, is that currently no update or method of updating is available. While we’ve seen PS3 auto-updates implemented before, they’ve hardly been as swift, and with the Wii’s lack of a hard drive, this option seems almost laughable.

On the WTF front, several gamers that have picked the game up from Wal-Mart have received a rather unpleasant surprise:

Yes, they are packing in older guitar peripherals with the game in certain Xbox 360 and PS2 bundles. Granted, the type of guitar is right on the package, but remaindering old guitars this way? Caveat emptor.
