It seems that the Halo 3 beta was supposed to begin in earnest now for Crackdown owners, but... a ton of people, including myself, are still waiting.
The menu option for "Download Halo 3 Beta" is still grayed, and the pass-over text still says the same thing - come back at a later time to download it. People are complaining on Larry Hryb's (aka Major Nelson's) site that they, too, cannot get in.
UPDATE: Bungie.net is stating they're aware of the inablility of Crackdown owners to get in.
With any luck this will be a short delay. People enetering the Beta through other methods - Friends and Family, Rule of Three and so on, are unaffected.
UPDATE 2: Bungie.net has found the issue and everything should be fixed in the next 3 - 6 hours!
We're happy to finally announce that the issues being faced with the Halo 3 beta and Crackdown will be resolved shortly. The Microsoft team has found a solution and it's undergoing final testing now. Assuming the test pass goes according to plan, the fix will come in the form of a Crackdown title update within the next three to six hours.
