LucasArts and TT Games have announced Lego Star Wars : The Complete Saga. This game will build in the past two releases of Lego Star Wars and is being developed specifically for the current generation systems : Xbox360, PS3 and Wii as well as a brand new DS version is in the works.
Lego Star Wars II : The Original Trilogy which was based on Episodes 4, 5 and 6 was the number 3 best selling title of 2006. In the US, sales of the two Lego Star Wars games have reached 7 million units through March of 2007.
Lego Star Wars : The Complete Sega is being developed to take advantage of the unique features of each of the next gen systems. On Xbox360 and PS3, the game will be in high definition as well as take full advantage of online play. Players will be able to play across each systems online network in two player drop in / drop out co-op. The Wii version won’t sport the high definition environment but the WiiMote opens the door to a very unique play style for building objects in the game.
The game will feature 36 Story Modes that take place across all the environments seen in the six Star Wars films. With 160 characters to choose from in the game, gamers will be able to use any of their favorites in any of the Story Modes. So if you ever wanted to see Jar Jar Binks running around on Hoth, The Complete Saga can make that happen.
Lego Star Wars II : The Original Trilogy was a great family friendly game which let parents and children play together. One of the only things gamers felt the game lacked was any type of online co-op mode which TT Games is clearly addressing in this new release.
