LEGO Universe Announced

LEGO Group is announcing more LEGO video game fun with a new MMO style project. LEGO Group has turned to NetDevi to develop their latest project called LEGO Universe set to release for fourth quarter 2008.

LEGO Group is looking to bring fans together into an online community where fans of all ages can experience LEGO in a fun and imaginative online environment. The MMO will feature typical MMO features such as character progression and social features as well as customizable avatars, in this case a LEGO figure.

There was no mention of monthly pay to play fees, but we should expect there will be one like there is with most MMOs. With the huge success of the LEGO Star Wars line, it’s good to see LEGO investing in other ways to bring it’s product line to the console space. Who doesn’t still want to play LEGOs ?
