FourZeroTWo, the Community Relations spokesman for Infinity Ward, released a statement on his blog today that states that new maps for Call of Duty 4 will be released at some time this Spring. The maps will be available for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox360 as Downloadable Content. The price or number of maps to be released has yet to be determined.
While new maps are always welcome, some have expressed their frustration that the map pack release news comes at a time where the Call of Duty community still awaits a patch to resolve lag, hit detection, and party issues. This patch is not yet in the hands of Microsoft Certification.
Infinity Ward released a "design a map" contest two weeks ago for PC gamers and has stated that it may offer some of the community-designed maps on consoles at a later point. These community-designed maps are seperate from the DLC maps mentioned today in FourZeroTwo's blog.
FourZeroTwo has urged the community to reply to his blog to suggest map types for the IW team to consider, so make sure to leave a comment on his blog with what YOU think would be the perfect Cod4 map.
Leave a comment here and let the 2old2play community know what you think as well. Snow maps? Larger maps? Night
