So Sam Fisher, Sully, Captain Jack, the Saints and some creepy aliens walked into a bar...yeah that’s all I got but it gives you an idea of what to expect this week.
Multiplatform
Splinter Cell: Blacklist (PS3, XBOX, WiiU, PC)
I have a love-hate relationship with Sam Fisher over these past years. I enjoyed the games but I have never finished one. Why? It’s combination of two things: 1) They get so goddamn hard and 2) I suck. Multiplayer was just as bad. I loved playing spies vs mercs multiplayer until I became a constant liability for my side. I should stop buying Splinter Cell games and just rent them instead. Anyway, if you enjoyed playing as a three green eyed spook before I’m sure you’ll love playing as one now in Splinter Cell: Blacklist!
Saints Row IV (PS3, XBOX, PC)
So you are the leader of some crazy ass street gang that got powerful enough to basically put you in the White House until alien “anal probing overlords” decide to visit earth and start blowing shit up. Ladies and gents, I give you Saints Row IV! This game is getting great reviews everywhere. If you can’t wait for GTA V you can pick up Saints Row IV on August 20th.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (PS3, XBOX, PC)
In this third person tactical shooter you play as William Carter, the leader of squad of men in the newly formed XCOM division. Your goal: rid the US of aliens and don’t die doing it. Dying in XCOM and the lurking possibility of permadeath for you and your squadmates plays a big role in your decisions. The Bureau:XCOM Declassified drops on August 20th.
Disney Infinity (PS3, XBOX, Wii, WiiU, 3DS)
So you take Skylanders, you “Disney-fy” it and voila! It’s Disney Infinity! Dropping on August 18th on nearly every single gaming platform known to man you can finally pretend to be Captain Jack Sparrow without getting totally pissed in a bar where your friends laugh at you and girls run away...which makes your “friends” laugh at you more. Not that that’s ever happened to me...I’m just saying this might cost less than getting out of any illegal pirate shit you may or may not have tried to pull in your state of complete inebriation.
Microsoft
Flashback
XBLA’s Summer of Arcade continues with the remake of the 1992 platformer Flashback. If you remember that game then kudos as I don’t. Word on the street has it that the 1992 version is included in the remake. If you like platformers, and the movie Memento, then Flashback is worth a try.
Playstation
The Walking Dead (PS Vita)
The Walking Dead is one of Telltale games most compelling stories and critically lauded games. If you have played it on any other platform then you know what to expect on the Vita. If you haven’t played it before what are you waiting for? You should play this game regardless of platform.
Well that’s pretty much it for this week. I’m gonna get my Mike Wazowski on...CYA!!!
