So I thought I was gone, you thought I was gone but apparently I’m not gone. I’m like the cousin that came to stay the week but that was three months ago and I still haven't paid rent. I’m like the stray cat you picked up out of the garbage and fed once and now never leaves your side. I’m like the clap.
Maybe the good folks at 2old2play.com will find and apply an ointment by next week or maybe they won’t but for now lets get to it!
Multiplatform
Grid 2 (XBOX PS3 PC)
From the racing geeks over at Codemasters comes Grid 2. The sequel to their multi-million seller Grid keeps to it’s predecessors roots of gorgeous in game models, great racing, awesome cars and fantastic tracks. Grid 2 races into stores on May 28th for PS3 and XBOX (Grid 2 launched on Steam May 27th). I never owned the first Grid but I played the hell out of the demo...hopefully there is one for Grid 2 as well.
FUSE (XBOX PS3)
Developed by Insomniac Games, whom you may recognize from the Resistance, Rachet and Clank and the Spyro series, FUSE is four player co-op action where each agent possesses unique specializations and abilities. If not playing with three other real world humans the player(s) can “leap” from agent to agent taking advantage of those abilities where needed (Why do I get this weird sense of “been there, done that, wasn’t really that great?”). FUSE is the first game released on both the PS3 and XBOX by Insomniac Games. I am anxious to see what it’s like if not just a wee bit cautious. There’s a demo available so maybe I’ll check that out first. FUSE drops May 28th.
XBOX 360
CastleStorm
Created by one of my favorite XBLA developers, Zen Studios, CastleStorm is a tower destruction game that blends real time strategy and resource management into your wanton obliteration of all things castle like. With single player, split screen, co-op and even tower construction modes, CastleStorm looks like it could be one of those games that’s easy to play but hard to master and put down. CastleStorm falls onto XBLA on May 29th.
PC
Wargame AirLand Battle
Wargame AirLand Battle is the sequel to the 2012 real time strategy game Wargame European Escalation. From what I could tell this is a pretty intense and demanding RTS game. I like my RTS’s on the lighter side like Warcraft 2/3 and Starcraft. I am not too sure I would fair well in this game. If intense and demanding RTS games are your cup of tea, you’ll be excited to know that Wargame AirLand Battle is available online on May 29th.
Crusader Kings 2
Another contender in the RTS genre, Crusader Kings 2 takes us into the glorious age of Medieval Europe. If you consider things like the plague, The Crusades, constant strife and a complete and utter lack of any personal hygene “glorious” then have I got the game for you! Tell your help to set the sundial as Crusader Kings 2 rises on May 28th.
So that’s the interesting (by my odd standards) releases for this week. What will next week have in store for us? Will I be back...again? I guess we will all just have to wait and see.
