New Releases: Week of October 21st

The gaming season is starting to pick up! There are a ton of new releases this week. Some are re-releases and bundles featuring great deals on some great games. As we approach the release of the new consoles, it’s only going to get more hectic and better from here on out. Enjoy these last couple of weeks gaming on the current generation while you can!

 

Coming out this week

Batman: Arkham Origins (360, PS3, Wii U, PC)
Taking place before the two previous entries in the Batman: Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Origins features a younger hero just starting to clean the streets of Gotham City. It’s like he is growing up before your very eyes, dishing out justice as only Batman can. Batman: Arkham Origins hits store shelves on October 25th.

Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate (3DS, Vita)
Take justice on the road with you! Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate is the first handheld entry in the series. It continues the storyline of the console version, as you are tasked with regaining control of Blackgate prison after the prisoners take it over. Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate hits store shelves on October 25th.

Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director's Cut (360, PS3, Wii U)
Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director’s Cut does a lot to overhaul the original game that released last year. The new version will interface with the Wii U gamepad, XBox Smartglass, and PS Vita to make the game even more immersive. Boss battles were changed, the AI was tweaked, and eight hours of director’s commentary was included. If you already played through the game, it may not be worth playing through again for these new features. For anyone who missed this awesome stealth/RPG hybrid, this is the version to pick up. Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director’s Cut drops on October 22nd.

LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes (360, PS3, 3DS, DS, Vita, Wii U, PC)
LEGO-Hulk smash! LEGO New York is being attacked by villains and just about every Marvel hero that exists is called to action to stop them. With over 100 characters to play, you will battle your way through Marvel landmarks like Stark Tower and the X-men mansion. Just Dance Kids 2014 (360, Wii, Wii U)
Do you have kids that you need to wear out or keep busy? I bet they’ll enjoy dancing to some of these songs. If you don’t have kids, this game probably isn’t for you. Or maybe it is? I’m not here to judge anyone. Get your family groove on with Just Dance Kids 2014 on October 22nd.

NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM 3 Full Burst (360, PS3)

The days of the plastic guitar with five buttons seem to be long gone. Rocksmith is here to fill the void! The turtles are back in another beat ‘em up. Play by yourself or team up with friends to bring down Shredder and those stupid robotic mice. I hate those guys. TMNT drops on October 22nd.

Wii Party U (Wii U)
Mini-games for your Wii U! This one includes Knitting! But seriously, Nintendo makes some awesome mini-games and, if you have a Wii U, this is probably a great game to have in your library for parties or for the family to play together. Party down with Wii Party U on October 25th.

2K Essentials Collection (360, PS3)
2K is releasing two bundles of older games this week. The first contains the original Bioshock and Borderlands as well as XCOM: Enemy Unknown. At only $30, you can get three great games to play if you missed them the first time around. 2K Essentials Collection releases on October 22nd.


2K Power Pack Collection (360, PS3)
2K’s second bundle features the Darkness 2, Bioshock 2, and Mafia 2. That’s a lot of 2’s! If you missed these sequels the first time around, $30 will get you back up to speed. 2K Power Pack Collection releases on October 22nd.
