Folds genes that is - Stanford University has posted a table that tracks the various statistics for all the CPUS that are using their cancer curing...
gene-manipulation software Folding@Home
The table breaks down each type of contributor: Windows, Linux, and most recently PS3. Currently, Windows leads the pack with the most CPUs dedicated to the project, but the PS3 is in the lead for the most number of calculations (TFLOPS)!
Is this a sign of PlayStation’s dominance? Before you say yes, consider that Folding@Home runs when no one is using the Blue-ray or playing games. This is more a sign of PS3s not being used. I sure hope Sony continues this game drought so we can finally get this cancer thing licked for good.
