The rumor on the streets is that Bethesda has put aside Oblivion on the PSP due to "major production problems."
It must be difficult to stuff all that is Oblivion into the small device that is the PSP. However, the PSP isn't a hand held device rocketing off the shelves like the Nintendo DS. Perhaps Bethesda is attempting to cut their losses due to a sliding release date?
You can throw good money after bad or admit your defeat and learn from it. If the PSP sales aren't astounding you may not recover the money you spent to stuff that RPG onto the platform. This doesn't mean the PSP isn't a good platform for RPG's, it may simply be the cost associated with producing it on the platform and the sliding release date. Everyday the production schedule slips it's more salary being spent to recover.
With Oblivion on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, is there really any need for it on a hand held system too? Oblivion is a pretty long game to be playing "casually" in your hand when you've got a big ol' TV at home.
