MTV has finally revealed the long wondered about price point of their upcoming, peripherally abundant music-sim Rock Band, and the results aren’t quite the kick in the pants we were expecting.
Priced at USD $169.99, this bundle pack comes with everything you need to start up your own plastic orchestra of rock with: one guitar, one mic, one drum kit, and of course, the game. Another guitar would sweeten the deal even further, but heck, the bassist always gets the worse end of the stick anyway. Also of note is the difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360 version: pack-in guitars will have to suffer the restraints of wires on the latter console.
If you’re still lagging behind in generations of consoles, MTV’s Multiplayer Blog brings along some good news:
The surprise twist? The Ps2 version of “Rock Band,” once thought scheduled for 2008, will actually ship this year. The full PS2 package ships Dec. 10 for $159.99.
Rock Band is set to make its debut on November 23rd.
