Looking forward to the sequel to the successful Transformers War for Cybertron? We are keeping a sharp eye on the next part of the story from High Moon studios as well. Anxious to pick our ’bots and jump into multiplayer, we put together a handy list of the playable characters in the game. Transformers: Fall of Cybertron will feature the end of the long civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Due out in stores on August 28th this follow-up game promises updated, and more detailed than ever, versions of our favorite robots in disguise.

Fall of Cybertron will have a new, original storyline that details the final battles leading up to the famed exodus of the Transformers characters aboard their ship the Arc. Fated to eventually reach the planet Earth. Some playable characters will to return from Transformers: War For Cybertron while others are still yet to be confirmed.

Returning Autobots: Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide
Unconfirmed: Air Raid, Ironhide, Arcee, Ratchet, Jetfire and Silverbolt

Returning Decepticons: Megatron, Brawl, Starscream, Shockwave
Unconfirmed: Soundwave, Barricade, Breakdown, Slipsteam, Skywarp and Thundercracker

WFC also had a handful of downloadable characters too. War For Cybertron DLC pack 1 featured Shockwave, Scattershot, Demolishor, Jazz, and Onslaught and War For Cybertron DLC pack 2: had Dead-End and Zeta Prime.

New playable characters in FOC:

Grimlock
Leader of the Dinobots, this Grimlock is a cybertronian tyrannosaurus. The origin story for the Dinobots will be different than the 80’s cartoon. Grimlock will be a powerhouse character in the game the trade off being he is slower more melee-oriented character. Trades his blaster for a sword and shield.

All 5 of the original G1 Dinobots are present in the game, Grimlock’s fellow cohorts: Slag the triceratops, Swoop the pterodactyl, Sludge the brontosaurus and Snarl the stegosaurus.

Jazz
Jazz will be returning but seems to have gotten quite the makeover. He will be able to “tune” into his surroundings, I suspect an altered vision mode like seen in many superhero games. Transforming is said to resemble breakdancing also to emphasise his fondness of music. His character will be extremely competent, spec ops fighter. Obviously he will not be a Porsche like cybertronian counterpart will resemble one complete with a spoiler. What really will make Jazz stand apart is his grapple function. Used for transferring from platform to platform we have yet to see any other uses.

Cliff Jumper (Suspected)
We know that Jazz’s levels involve Optimus sending him out with Cliffjumper. I suspect CliffJumper will also be playable in this co-op friendly game. His focus is stealth, he enacts the ability to turn invisible. Likely a Scout class of solder.

Bruticus (Seen in screenshots)
A Decepticon combiner. Bruticus is the combined form of the Combaticon team.

Blast Off and fellow combaticon Swindle have been seen in preliminary art. The are 5 Combaticons in total.

Metroplex (Suspected)
The autobot city that can transform into the massive Metroplex will likely be called upon to battle Bruticus. What we know is he is featured in Optimus’s level and you can “give him orders”.

Vortex (Seen in screenshots)
Another new Decepticon.

Let’s start busting Deceptichops

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron fans will go head-to-head in epic Autobot vs. Decepticon matches after creating their own unique characters with the most in-depth, advanced customisation ever before seen in a Transformers game. Maybe they will have white as a color option this time. As advanced as some game customization has become, we’ll be expecting a lot.
