Did you buy a wireless headset for your Xbox 360? If it doesn't work your not alone.
Weeks after the release of the new Wireless 360 headset, many customers have complained about hundreds upon hundreds of documented flaws with no official response or product recall from MS. Everything from continuous disconnects, no connections, and major feedback have caused customers to exchange, return, or simply dump the faulty headsets altogether.
The once "stickied" official thread for the headset on Xbox.com has convienently been unstuck as the list of complaints has grown to over 10 pages of complaints and demands for an answer. Even on Teamxbox.com a similar thread has been filled with almost the exact same complaints. Other smaller threads and post on other gaming sites seem to express the equal dissatisfaction to the expensive and otherwise non-functional headsets.
2old2play has spoken with several of it's own members and can also confirm that the headsets are plagued with 3-5 sec timeouts that can occur up to once every 20 minutes. A call to the Xbox Help Line proved to be useless, as we were told they were "not aware of the problem." We were also told to turn off all wireless devices in the house to minimize issues. This means no wireless routers, microwaves, cell phones, or cordless phones. After reviewing the posts on Xbox.com it seems that even by shutting all these devices off, many people experience the same problems. Some can not even get a clear signal when standing only 5 feet away.
For the sake of it's customers we can only hope that Microsoft will take to time to address these major issues and support the products it releases. After all who wants a $60 paperweight?
If you have had similar problems, we encourage you to call MS and let them know about it or post some comments in our forums.
