If you like to take things apart and tinker, Talismoon has a new board that will give you Playstation 3 style tilt control.
The Talismoon Tiltboard will be available in a week for $39.99. This second generation board is said to be more user friendly to operate in-game than SIXAXIS. The board mounts around your battery compartment and has a button on each side. These buttons are used to make on the fly adjustments to tilt sensitivity or turn the product on/off to switch between analog sticks and tilt control.
The board comes preloaded with TiltTune software. This software lets the gamer adjust the tilt sensitivity, the 0 degree, invert the Y axis and turn the tilt function on or off. Everything needed to install this modification on your controller is in the box including the seven wires you’ll need to solder. Not to worry, the board also comes with a best practices document so you install it right the first time.
Maybe at some point someone will make an after market controller with this technology already built in. Motion sensing controllers seem to be the wave of the future and something the Xbox 360 has missed the boat on. The question is will motion sensing win over gamers and last or is it just a passing fad?
