It's the most wonderful time of the year! Kids are going back to school next week and will no longer be house lumps! Thank jeebus because its like moving a mountain to get them to do anything but sit on their asses!
From the game standpoint we have three months ahead of us with some pretty huge releases but for now it still looks like odd shovelware, re-releases, anime tie-in's and then some cool indies thrown in with two bigger games.
Let's check out the two big ones and I will give you my pick of the indies at the end!
Pro Evolution Soccer 2019
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: August 28th, 2018
FIFA has it's fans and so does PES but now Konami no longer has the UEFA license and EA does. We'll see what that does for the franchise as these two games have been going head to head for 18 years with FIFA being around even longer than that. I am not sure how much longer Konami will fund PES as from what I can tell FIFA is outselling PES around 20:1
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
Platform: Switch
Release Date: August 28th, 2018
Yes I know MHGU is a re-release but I also know that the Monster Hunter fans can get a little uptight sometimes. In an effort to appease that segment of the gamin population I am letting them know (Which let's face it they already did know) that MHGU is coming to the Switch.
Strange Brigade
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: August 28th, 2018
When I first saw the trailer for this I assumed right off the bat it was a PUBG / Fortnite / HungerGames clone. I was wrong. Stange Brigade, developed by Rebellion Developments is a 4-player co-op thrid person shooter. What I can't seem to find (maybe it was in the 2.5gb press kit I didn't download...because it was 2.5gb!) is whether the game is couch co-op and online co-op or just online. I do know there is a single player element to it but I am guessing Strange Brigade would be way more fun with friends!
