I am conflicted as this is my last article for 2old2play. For the past 11 years I have been contributing to the site and it has become a routine for me. I get to go and look at new games being release and watch trailers I likely never would have otherwise. I have discovered some great games along the way and I enjoy that bried adventure through gameland. That being said, I know there are maybe a handful of views on the New Releases each week. Even then most of those views are likely the writers themselves. I truly appreciate this community and what it stands for but my time each week to dedicate to gaming is becoming smaller and smaller. So it is with a somewhat heavy heart that I have to bid farewell.
If I can leave you with anything it will be this: I urge you to try new games. It's tough to keep an open mind sometimes but you might find an unexpected gem or a genre you never considered before.
That is what I love about Game Pass, and I hope Sony's version provides that same level of exploration and discovery to all of you PS fans. Having all these games at your fingertips brings me back to the days of Blockbuster and game rentals where all you went off of half the time was the cover. We played all kinds of games back then. Some we liked, some we didn't and that was ok because at the end of the day we were having fun regardless.
So don't get stuck only playing COD, Fortnite, Overwatch, etc. Try some indies, try some Metroidvania style games, try an JPRG and a narrative style game. Go play some retro games and wonder at how unbelievably hard those games were and be thankful for the miracle of the "Save Game'.
With that, all the best in the new year to you all and may gaming continue to bring a smile to all your faces.
