Not commuting is finally paying off in more free time for video games. Picked up a bunch of point-and-click adventures I’m working through in the Steam Summer Sale and Paper Mario: The Origami King when it came out Friday. This week is a bit slower on the new releases. I threw one from last week that came in quietly since it's something I’ve been patiently waiting for. For titles coming at you this week we got some puns, tentacle monsters, and god old fashion war.

This one snuck in under the radar last week but I have been patiently waiting for them to shut up and take my money ever since a friend told me she played a demo quite a while ago. It’s a sequel to the point-and-click adventure Beneath a Steel Sky which I missed when it originally came out in the 90s but was very glad I found the remaster on Steam a few years ago. It was an excellent story with good puzzles and lots of humor to balance tension. Fingers crossed the sequel is as excellent as the original!

I’m not sure how I missed the existence of this game until the third installment. It's got a fun art style and penchant for puns that are right up my alley. It's a competitive tower defense game with much homage to Monty Python. Any 2old2players play any of the other games in the franchise?

And now Kansas is totally stuck in my head, hopefully there will be peace when this article is done. This a horror game with a twist. You play as the horrific tentacle monster attacking humans in a science facility.

This was out on PC in 2019 but hits PS4 and XBO this week. It's a World War I first person shooter that strives for historical accuracy.
