Some big titles drop this week for all the major platforms so my advice is to maybe throw your wallet in the deep freeze or something to help keep it shut. Sadly I seem to have memorized my credit card numbers so even if my wallet is buried under 5 loaves of frozen bread it still wouldn't help. Stupid brain! I am trying hard to save money this year as Mrs-Soup and I (along with TitaniumNuts and his wife) are heading to Vegas in a couple weeks. We signed up for the Rock and Roll half marathon but unfortunately my knee gave out at the end of August and then I managed to damage my Achilles tendon in September so looks like I am out. Stupid old body!
Enough complaining that I am old and broken lets get to some games!
Assassin's Creed: Origins
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: October 27th, 2017
I have lost my taste for the AC games after Black Flag. I knw there is a number of peple out there that loved the sailing. I couldn't stand it. I despised every minute on the water in that game. Mrs-soup bought me AC: Unity a couple Christmas's ago and it is still in it's wrapper on my shelf. It's like when you get so drunk off of Vodka Slimes and puke it up for days and now you can't even go anywhere near Vodka without feeling sick. However, you remember them being tasty, and you're tempted as it looks good, so you buy one but the moment it hits your lips you remember what happened and you just stop. Yeah that pretty much sums up the AC franchise for me right now. Maybe I'lll get Mrs-Soup to play it.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: October 27th, 2017
The previous iteration of this new version of Wolfenstein, and it's add on, were good games. Hard but good. I was torn on the addition of a story into the franchise in the beginning as that was not what "my" Wolfenstein was about. Wolfenstein has always been about killing Nazi's first and foremost and while it wasn't the best story in the world, the Nazi killin' felt so good! I loved the homages to the original iD game, which if you are old like me you know is not the original original, so I am interested to find out if there is anything like that in The New Colossus.
Destiny 2
Platforms: PC
Release Date: October 24th, 2017
When I played the demo of Destiny 2 I made the conscious decision to play it on PC. I wasn't disappointed. It was good. I almost bought it on PC but I know most of the 2old2play community is on Xbox and that is where I like to play. Also I have a problem with achievements. The PC version doesn't have them or at least they won't add to my gamerscore. That is probably the biggest reason now that I think about it. Anyway, if you don't share my "problem" I would suggest you pick up Destiny 2 on PC.

Super Mario Odyssey
Platforms: Switch
Release Date: October 27th, 2017
I have been waffling back and forth on Super Mario Odyssey. I love me some Mario, and maybe it's nostalgia or I am turning into a grumpy old man, but the "real" world setting doesn't appeal to me. I may stick with Super Mario World on my SNES Classic. Maybe if it wasn't $80 I might be more interested.
