Holy crap it's Monday already! Where did the weekend go!? Oh wait...I remember. Saturday was cold and rainy and miserable so I stayed inside and played Forza Horizon 3, some Destiny: Rise of Iron and suffered the abysmal loading times of ReCore. Sunday I made up for my complete lack of doing anything productive which leads us to now...Monday October 3rd.
Can you smell it? The crisp fall air, the leaves on the ground (which smells like rotting foliage which is kind of gross really), the grass is crunchy in the early mornings when I take the dog for a walk and a crap ton of new games are coming out!
Well ok, maybe not a crap ton this week but soon I promise.

Rocksmith 2014 edition - Remastered
Platform: PC, PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: October 4th, 2016
So, if like me, you own the original 2014 edition of Rocksmith you get the same updates as this game promises to deliver. That is true except minus the 6 free songs the new players get. Three little birds, Suspicious Minds, Some Nights, I want you back, Hey Ya! and Drops of Jupiter...not a huge loss but they will be available s DLC so if you feel like you missed out you can pay the $2 per song instead of $80 for the new disc. My only issue with Rocksmith, other than I am still not the rock legend they seem to kind of allude to promising, is the progression. You start from simple notes and then it says "hey you are nailing those I am going to throw in some chords" but chords you have never seen, nor practiced and when you fail it tells you go to the chord section where they show basically 3 chords - C, E and G. Nowhere to found if the E7m that flashed by in an instant in the song...not only that but what the frack is an E7m?!?! Maybe Dan Amrich will read this and contact me and he can lead me through this as he is Mr. Rockband these days but man is it ever frustrating!
Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide
Platform: PS4, Xbox One
Release Date: October 4th, 2016
Out for over a year on PC (and selling over half a million copies), Vermintide is making its way to consoles. A first person, 4-player co-op multiplayer game set within the Warhammer universe. Online co-op (no local co-op - booooo!) allows you to drop in and drop out of pretty much any game or you could go it alone I suppose but where is the fun in that? The weapons and tactics seem very well thought out and are not just skins on the same animation. For example: Heavy hammers are slower and deal more damage compared to a cutlass.
Paper Mario: Color Splash
Platform: WiiU
Release Date: October 7th, 2016
Mario holds a special place in my heart but I never got into the Paper Mario games and really at this point all die-hard Nintendo fans are biding their time until the NX drops is 6 months-ish anyway.
