Unreal Tournament 3 won’t be getting any special demo treatment, at all. Epic VP Mark Rein told Eurogamer that it’s just like what they told Microsoft about a possible Gears of War demo:
“You’ve got a choice - you can have the demo this year or the game this year.”
Rein also pulled out the “Epic isn’t a huge company” card, defending the decision to have no demo for PS3:
“We’re not a big huge company with the resources to do that, and all the time we’re testing that demo we’re not testing our full game, which we need to be doing constantly,”
PC fans on the other hand, have something to be happy about - there will be a “demo” for the PC. According to Rein, the demo will be more of a “beta” than anything else, giving the developers a chance to “devour” feedback from the community.
