After over two months and 30+ submissions, the site has finally chosen a winner for the 2O2P Writing Contest!
It was no simple task for the editors and staff to choose the top five of all the submissions let alone find the time to read them! Each one offered something new and unique to the older gaming community and the world at large and so we would just like to applaud the writers.
Finalist were chosen based on creativity and content and not their grammar and spelling. We felt that the message and idea was more important to the readers so we looked out for content that was unique and reflected the 2old2play style. The top five were finally chosen and we let you, the community decide their fate.
Unbelievably, we got a huge response from the outside gaming industry and community. Each story was picked up by Digg.com and one even caused a major server crash by hitting both Digg and Slashdots home page at the same time! At many times during the week it was hard to even read the new editorials because the traffic was so strong that our site was offline. Luckily we got through and on Friday - Wednesday the votes were tallied. Below are the results and final top three winners of our contest.
Remember, you don't need a contest to submit news to 2old2play, so if you ever feel like you have something to say, use our submit news button. I would also like to thank all the people that voted, read the articles, and dugg the stories. Your interaction in our contest let our authors know that they were writing for a interested audience.
We are hoping to roll out another contest in the very near future with even more prizes and winners. If writing interests you, please feel free to email our editor at editor@2old2play.com for more information. Thanks again and congratulations to all the winners!
