As in the years of past, 2old2play has successfully helped a member in need for this Holiday Season. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
As many of you may recall, 2old2play has always tried to find ways to help members in need. Long time members have already seen the power of 2old2play through our support of Sgt Pezzer and the giving of the clans we are all apart of. This year was no different as we all tried to pull together for our friend and member JollyRoger.
If you don't already know Jolly, I suggest you take a hard look at his blog to learn about his family, their beautiful daughter Megan, and the story we have all been inspired by day after day. Since the day she was born, 2old2play has been there to share in the celebration. Unfortunately, she has also had to endure heath issues that no child her age should have to suffer through. Through it all she has maintained the same smile and joy that you see in her pictures.
In the recent months, things have been a bit harder on the family and especially Megan. They have had to focus even more time on Megan's well being and with that time, even more money. From her special formulas (which our own twisted helped to donate) to her almost weekly doctors visits, Megan has been in and out of the hospital while the families medical bills have been piling up.
Because no family should have to deal with that kind of hardship and especially during the holiday season, 2old2play decided to do something about it. So a couple weeks ago the mods and some other members devised a plan to raise money for the Secret Megan Cochran Fund. Dsmooth created a hidden forum that every members but Jolly could see and began to ask for donations. In just a short couple weeks, the 2old2play members rallied to Megan's aid and showed their love with not only wallets, but well wishes and thanks. In the end we managed to raise $3185.00 for the Cochran family and proved that even 7,000+ people can keep a secret. We hope they can use this money to cushion some of the insane costs that come up during a holiday season and we hope it can bring them a little more joy. Megan has been an inspiration to us all, and giving back is just our way of saying thanks.
Since I have had the pleasure of playing many games with Jolly over the years and had the oppurtunity to meet him at last years Chicago Lan I would just like to take this time to say you are a good member, a great friend, and an even greater human being. I wish you and your family the best, and from all of us at 2old2play I would like to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
