After a couple successful months in beta, the latest 2old2play feature is now ready for public consumption...
Ever since the site redesign, you've probably noticed the little Friends List link in the upper right corner that did nothing... Well now it does.Clicking on the link takes you to your individual integrated friends list. It's broken into 3 main sections, which I'll cover very briefly here, as it's pretty self explanatory.
The first section is for XBox Live friends. Whether your friends list is full, or if you've been wanting to add someone super popular who's list is full (like DSmooth) to your friends list, here is at least a partial solution. By adding gamertags to your friends list you will be presented with their current status, gamerscore, etc. These are all updated in realtime, so the bigger you choose to make the list, the page will obviously load slower. The XBox Live friends can be sorted by clicking on the column headers, so whether you want to sort by gamertag, gamerscore or online status, it's entirely up to you. This section is unidirectional, meaning you can add anyone you want, 2old2play or not, and the other person doesn't need to perform any action.
The second section is for Wii Friends. This section is bi-directional. Anyone on 2old2play who has their Wii console id associated with their gamer profile will be available from the dropdown list of people to add. Once you add someone to your Wii friends they will show up on your list, along with their console id and 2 red icons. The first icon indicates whether you have entered their console id into your Wii, and the second indicates whether they have added your console id into theirs. As soon as you add someone, not only do they show up on your Wii friends list, but you show up on theirs. After you have added their console id to your Wii, you can simply click the red icon and it will turn green, indicating that you have added them. Their page will be similarly updated. Once both icons are green for a given person, that means you have both added one another to your Wii's and the friend relationship has been created.
The final section is a taste of what's to come. The two most popular PC friends systems are XFire and Steam. The initial release of the 2old2play friends list allows you to add XFire id's of people who you would like to track on your friends list. This works the same as the XBox one, where you can add whoever you want without need for reciprocation. It's pretty self-explanatory. Steam will be coming to the PC friends list soon.
Please try it out, use it, and feel free to provide me any comments, suggestions, problems, etc.
Thanks...
