After months on this little place we call the world wide web, 2old2play finally turns 2 years young to the day.
It was April 1st that 2old2play finally had opened it's doors to the original 2old2play clan that we formed so many ages ago. In the beginning, the site was meant only as a place to get away from all timmies and to ensure the people we gamed with would at least have something in common. About 80 people from the clan joined us with only one forum and plenty of T&A jokes.
I had spent a better part of my time working on new ways to reach out to other older gamers while Dsmooth slowly, and I mean slowly, built a better site. Not soon after the launch, our very own Mike James wrote his letter to OXM which opened the flood gates to so many other long time members.
Soon after, one of these long time members now turned moderator, Agonizing_Gas, took it upon himself to write a story that truly encapsulated our community and actually struck quite a cord on the Bungie.net homepage as well. From there the site really began to explode and new clans, friends, and gaming nights were born.
Since then the site has gone through many changes both in programming and in look & feel. New community leaders have been added, and there are even those that have left and will be missed. No matter what though, 2old2play has stood and continues to try and create a truly viable space for older gamers to meet and hang out with each other. Whether its expanding into new platforms like our enormous 2 PC based ,World of Warcraft guilds or building the largest older gamers Lan party, 2old2play will continue to create new features and functions for older gamers to meet and hang out.
The next couple months will be a true testament to that as we launch our soon to be released Senior Citizen Card and a couple more undisclosed updates that will surely cause you to never look at 2old2play the same way again. We hope everyone who has helped to donate and keep 2old2play running will remember to take advantage of the SCC as our way of finally thanking you for all the great contributions you have given to the site.
Last but not least, we cannot forget all the great community leaders, writers, and members who have made it a point to contribute with news, blogs, and forum posts. Without you, there is no reason to even visit the site. So here is to 2old2play and the community I love. May we see another 2 years of gaming fun with all our 2o2p friends. Maybe now we can finally launch our new Xbox 360 Arcade game "Bad Timmy" and really show the world who the leaders in older gaming are.
