Tiffany makes her first post as Editor-in-Chief! Read on for her introduction and learn more about her gaming background as well as how she first became a “gamer”.
Hey everyone! I suppose it’s about time I officially introduce myself! ;) My name is Tiffany and I am the newly appointed Editor-in-Chief here at 2old2play. I’ve been a 2old2play lurker since January 2010 and have personally met many of your existing staff at gaming events over the past year. Yes, and I still decided to accept this position even after meeting them. What was I thinking?!
As mentioned in the announcement in April, I have been a writer for RockBandAide.com, focused on providing Rock Band related content, for about a year now and helped to co-found DanceKinection.com, focused on providing Dance Central related content, last Fall. Needless to say, I love rhythm games! Besides rhythm games, I also enjoy FPS games on my Xbox 360, like the Halo series, and I’m a huge fan of the LEGO game series as well.
I am what many would consider as a late bloomin’ gamer. While I played video games from time to time growing up (which was mostly only when my brother decided to be nice and share his Atari), I would not consider myself as someone who grew up gaming. I didn’t discover my love for video games until adulthood. *gasp* I know this may be shocking to some of you, so feel free to sit down and take a breather before continuing.
My first purchased console was the black brick of a box called the Xbox. Wanna guess what my first “real” video game purchase was? If you guessed Halo 2, give yourself a pat on the back! I was amazed by the ability to socialize with people hundreds of miles away while at the same time getting to kill my boss from my “real job” and then laughing about it with him and other co-workers the next day. And just like that, I fell madly in love with gaming and of course, Master Chief!
From there, things just spiraled. Over the next few years, I would play with a group of co-workers and extended friends every Thursday night and then it turned into Friday nights and then Saturdays nights, and...well, you get the idea. I also discovered the GamerChiX group around this time on Xbox.com which eventually led me to the PMS Clan. In the PMS Clan, I was active in Halo 2, Left 4 Dead, Rhythm Games and Bioshock 2 divisions at certain points over the past 3+ years and I held a variety of management positions within those divisions.
Being part of a clan and spending so much time with friends online, I realized that I wanted to meet these people in real life. That was the ultimate trigger for me to start attending gaming events such as PAX East and then of course the first Gamers Gone Wild Party in 2010! GGW was my first real introduction to all the craziness that is known as 2old2play. Just because we’re older doesn’t mean that we don’t know how to play or how to have fun! Anyway, fast forward through a lot of other stuff, and here I am today.
With 2old2play, I am ready to demonstrate my passion for gaming and to help to bring all of you the content you desire. We have a lot of great things in the works including the site upgrade, so stay tuned, 2old2play is going to blow you away!
