We got back from the Outer Banks on Saturday and the house was still there, although there was a business card on my door from a Brinks Security representative. So right away we're wondering who got robbed. The answer: the residents of 5108 Kemmont St. We live in a brand new development, and theirs is the first house to be burgularized. I found this very curious because anytime I stay home from work, I'm convinced that I'm the only person in my complex that actually has a job. Holiday or not, my neighbors are washing their cars, walking the dog, playing with their kids, etc. Anyway, the robbers got the house midday, parked their car in the backyard, and took their shit. I got an email from our homeowners association, and seeing as how police know it was two black males ages 30 and 18 and the make, model, and color of their car, I'm guessing someone saw them robbing the house yet didn't call the authorities. Good job, neighbors! I guess it pays to be on your neighbors' good side.
So we're meeting with the Brinks Security guy tonight, who, by the way, is very busy this week thanks to two men in a red Dodge Magnum. They're offering a free premium installation...all we have to do is pay the regular monthly charge of just under $30. Not bad.
Anyway, I said "mostly" back to normal for another reason. My mother-in-law is with us this week to watch my son. His daycare closes for two weeks in August, this being the second week; so she's watching him. As a result, I've been relegated to the second floor bonus room and am playing Halo on a 19" Panasonic television that I bought when I was still a private first class. It's awful, and what's worse is that the remote doesn't work, so I can't adjust the contrast and color. I played a bit on Saturday night and found myself shooting at spartan corpses during a FFA. It was wicked awesome. So, if you play me this week, just know that I'm yours for the taking. I probably won't even see it coming.
