Shared on Sat, 08/26/2006 - 05:46I'm sure many of us have this same story.
Another weekend has arrived and another day of my 3 year old waking up way too early in the morning for my tastes. Now I'm not the sleep in real late person, so I'm generally awake by 8 on the weekends but I'm not prepared to wake up like I would on any normal work day. I will admit that it is my own fault that I stayed up past 12:30 last night to play some Burnout with Codemunkee but it's just so much damn fun.
I have come up with the perfect plan however for all parents whose young children wake up way too early every morning. The wake up log! I say this in jest, but we should all mark down every day that our children get us up at insane times (excluding when they are sick). When the teenage years come and they sleep into the late morning, there should be a knock at their bedroom door at 6:30.
Child: "Dad, it's 6:30 in the morning!!!!!"
Dad: "Yes I see that, but on August 26. 2006 you woke me up at this time and wanted to play. Now I'm awake and thought this would be a great time to spend together."
No matter what the time of day or night, I will always have time for my daughter but it is a little fun to think of how to serve up revenge for the early mornings.
