Bad times for my family

Monday morning my sister(Khylee) came to townfrom about 1.5 hrs away to pick up her daughter from her ex's only to discover his mom had taken her to Tulsa another hr away.  They were full well knowing that every Mon. morning she was coming to get my niece.  So my sister called her lawyer only to find out he had died over the weekend and there was nothing she could do to get her daughter back.  My dad got involved and got my niece back with her mom.

Wednesday in a 6month custody battle my sister lost joint custody of my niece.  She will now see her everyother weekend where before it was split time between the two parents.  The reasoning the judge gave was that my sister has lived in 6 different houses and 4 different town in the last 12mos where the father has stayed in the same place.  She also stated that neither had better parenting skills than the other and that their skills as a parent were very lacking.  Khylee has another child and is currently living w/ the most stable person she has dated since her divorce 2.5 years ago.  He has 2 children of his own so there were 6 of them.  He has a well paying job and can afford to support all of them very well.  My ex-Brother-in-law, while a fine man and I still consider him to be a good father has 2 children besides my niece, and his live in GF has 2-4 kids.  I dont know what she does but I do know that at his job he is stuck and will not advance any higher than he is.  He can barely afford to get by on what he was making now w/ the addition of my niece, a GF, & her kids it doesnt look good.  He only has an 8th grade education, and while I'm not knocking blue collar work I know that he cant go further & will struggle to make ends meet. 

Thursday morning my sister got a call from the school telling her she needed to get her son(7) to the ER right away.  He had to be transported to a different hospital from where they live to have his appendix removed.  It had not yet burst or ruptured but it was near there.  I heard from her last night and he is doing fine after the surgery but will have to stay for a couple days to moniter him.  I have a bachleors party in the general vacinity of where they live and on my way back Sun.  I'm going to stop by and see how everything is going. 

I feel bad for my niece, she cries anytime she had to go w/ her dad.  I dont know why but she did.  He is strict but also fair, his two older children are very well behaved, smart, and you can tell by being around they wont be like any of 'those other' kids.  They will be good and contribute to society rather than leave a stain on it.  I miss seeing them as much as I used to, but things change and they are still my niece and nephew even though my sis and their dad are no longer together.  Please remember my sister, niece, & nephew in your prayers or your thoughts.  Also my X-Brother-in-law & his family he will need them just as much as my family will.

I'm going to a bachelors party this weekend so I cant be in MJ's Drunkfest since I dont know when exactly I'll be back, I so badly wanted to play to meet some members of 2o2p outside my clan.  Oh well maybe next time.  Its been 2 whole weeks since I started eating better and exercising(sp) mostly just eating better.  I've only been to the gym 3 times and I've just been playing B-Ball and not running.  I get a good workout just shooting around but I joined a game going on the other day and had a hard time walking the next couple days, so I took them off.  Went back twice this week and for some weird reason my shoulders hurt almost like I threw them out, but oh well, I'll be better in a couple days.  Weighed myself last night and I've lost 6lbs I can now fit into 3 pairs of jeans and 2 pair of Khakis.  I still have about 6 that dont fit just hanging there mocking me every morning.  eh I'm getting there it just takes time.
