Compaq Presario for $349 Inc. S&H

I'm considering ordering a Compaq Presario V2000Z for $349 including S&H after $200 in mail in rebates plus an instant $200 off (linky).  The only thing I'd change is to up the memory from 256 MB to 512 MB, which would make it $399.  The OS and stuff I can upgrade myself and I have all the other software I'd want.  Anyone have any experience with Compaq laptops?  I normally only buy Dell machines (my Gateway laptop was an exception and mistake, frankly), but it's hard to beat this price for a laptop.

My daughter has one and loves it, no problems after about 6 mo. so far. Don't know if it might help but the company that owns the M/C shop I work at is owned by softwaremedia.com. The boss claims to beat everyones online price with their price search/generator. Might check w/them on software, if you nail down something specific you want I will email him, for I bet an even better price.

We were a Compaq house at work before the new company switched us to Dell. I've had a lot more problems with Dell than I ever did with Compaq. For that price you can't beat it.

Thanks OMR, I'll check it out, but to be honest, I believe I have all the software I need.
