And The Lions Keep Getting Killed!

After having bloged last week about the Graphic Novel "Pride of Baghdad" (see blog below) this news out of the war in Iraq struck a cord. Not only are the "lions" continuing to be killed, they are being killed in ever increasing numbers. This month alone, they lost more then double what we lost on 911. At some point we will have to realize that we have actually killed 100's of times more innocent life then we lost on that day. Whether it be by our own weapons or by indirectly opening up the flood gates. Some how that is going to come back to haunt us.

My Clan mate, fellow A team member, and team slayer buddy Phlizzer turned me onto some great new music by John Mayer. One particular great song is called "waiting on the world to change" Its a powerful song about some of the frustrations that i often find myself experiencing now a days. Here is a live performance of the song. "When they own the information, they can bend it all they want! " That pretty much sums it up for me now a days. I posted the Lyrics below as well. Enjoy. And thanks Dr Phlizz! :-)

Waiting On The World To Change

me and all my friends
we're all misunderstood
they say we stand for nothing and
there's no way we ever could
now we see everything that's going wrong
with the world and those who lead it
we just feel like we don't have the means
to rise above and beat it

so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

it's hard to beat the system
when we're standing at a distance
so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
now if we had the power
to bring our neighbors home from war
they would have never missed a Christmas
no more ribbons on their door
and when you trust your television
what you get is what you got
cause when they own the information, oh
they can bend it all they want

that's why we're waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

it's not that we don't care,
we just know that the fight ain't fair
so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

and we're still waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
one day our generation
is gonna rule the population
so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

Good stuff Bats. John Mayer is probably my favorite musician/singer/songwriter. He is actually going to be in concert here on October 9th, with Sheryl Crow, and my wife and I have tickets (Sheryl is her favorite, so it was a no-brainer). I hope he performs this song, that would be sweet!

The sad part is nobody talks about the people who died before we came to Iraq, and the people who would still be dying or worse if we hadnt gone in, I have heard statements on both side for and against but either way people would still be dying whether we are there or not we are just trying to help make something better out of a bad situation. And as for the animals that is sad never did hear about what happened to them, heard they were loose but never caight anything after that. To me there is no good choice if we hadnt gone into iraq they would quite possibly have succesfully attacked us again by now, I know some dont believe that, and some who dont like the war news flash nobody really likes war, but back to point if we hadnt gone in then we wouldnt have 24 hour news coverage and I guess all of a sudden nobody would care who or what died there because we werent over there. Its just funny not really that some things nobody cares about until we get involved then everyone cares and talks about it all of a sudden sad but true. Sorry for long response sore spot for me I get tired of all the war politics BS. Good blog though Bats wish I could view the links from here...

Good Blog Batman. I am not into John Mayer at all but, I can still appreciate the message. I would never have heard the message If you hadn't listed the Lyrics.
