"But why, monkee, why? You have stated in many posts that you are more intelligent than fungus, and yet...."
Yes, I admit, it looks foolish. Let me make it look even more so. This was a promotion into the organization that pretty much everyone is trying to get into. The "up and coming" workgroup, so to speak. And, they approached me, not the other way around. Most of the poeple who joined this new group a year ago have already been promoted yet again.
So, let's look at the downside. I know 3 people who work for that org - that's part of why I was recruited. However, all of them work, on average, 10-15 hours more a week than I do. Since we're salary, the amount of hours we work does not change our pay. But, more to the point, the "extra" hours they typically work are after I normally leave. The 2-3 hours after I get home are often the only time I see my wife. We both have many outside activities, and she helps her mom and sister a lot, so, our "quality" time is after dinner and weekends. Well, of those 3 people I know, 2 of them work most weekends as well.
So, I chose time at home over advancing at work. Time will tell if this was a smart decision or a bad one. But, I feel very comfortable with my decision.
My clan will be disappinted to learn that I will NOT have extra moeny to divert into the 360 fund. Looks like it's still next year for monkee.
Time for this low-level drone to sign off. Peace.
