The Pirate Queen had some breadbowl thing and the salad bar. I had cokes and the wench had iced tea. It was so nice to be able to get out of the house and just talk over a nice meal. Got to hear alot about her new job (Bank manager) and how happy she is with it. I think tonight gave her some sorely needed attention from me. I'll have to remind myself to do that more often...daily perhaps. Hmm. Enough about dinner...on to the good stuff:
Ok...TX Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning was awesome. It really brought back the absolute gross out effect that "slasher" films had lost. Blood everywhere, the sounds of rending flesh and crunching bone were awesome. I think the sound had more of an effect than the visuals! Top notch fx, nothing too complicated and very realistic. If you have missed the classic "teens get chased around by maniacs" type of film, you will love this comeback. Go see it now. The girls were absolutely gorgeous and the acting wasn't bad at all. Minimal skin (no boobs) and a tiny little bit of bedroom fun in the beggining 10 minutes. Other than that...all blood and rending flesh.
Next: Over-G Fighters. I don't understand why this game was rated so bad. It's a pretty damn good game. Beautiful graphics all the way around, especially on the mission replays (a la NFS:Underground and Forza Motor Sport). Gameplay is fairly simple and easy to get used to. I can already see the difficulty becoming a bit frustrating in the next couple of levels, but it should at least drive me to play for the challenge. Achievements are fairly easy to get for all you achievement whores out there. (Like me) If you have a penchant for aeronautics or jet planes add a few bonus points. The planes are realistically rendered and sound friggin incredible on 5.1 surround sound. Not quite arcade, but definatley not a true flight simulator. You can land and take off from airstrips and aircraft carriers. Scenery (landscapes) look great from up in the air and do not lose much when close to the ground. Could use a bit more on the building details though. But definately not a detractor from the game. Various weapons systems and realistic effects on target. (The cluster bombs are my favorite) Like I said, it is pretty visually satisfying. Stunning at some points, actually. (Im on a Samsung HD DLP 1080i max res 44" TV with a special "game mode" that speeds up image processing)
Worth the $59.99? I would have to say...yes.
Well, off to bed, have to be up in 4 hours. I had too much soda tonight.
Leave me a comment so I have something to look forward to after work.
Out.
